What is a Civil Suit?
A civil suit is a legal action taken by an individual or entity (the plaintiff) against another individual or entity (the defendant) to resolve disputes involving rights, obligations, and duties. Unlike criminal cases, civil suits are typically focused on seeking a remedy or compensation for a wrong, rather than punishment.
In a civil suit, the plaintiff is usually seeking monetary compensation, property return, enforcement of a contract, or the cessation of harmful actions by the defendant.
